about

Back to The Bunker for this third EP. The opening line, "glue my eyebrows to the floor and tell me I'm so clever, maybe if I hold my breath I could live forever", is a half-remembered line from Saul Bellow's "Herzog", a personal teenage favourite. It was also about the end of a three year co-counselling relationship. "Hooray for adolescent rage, a spotty face on a shitty stage" indeed. The "f***ing" in the last chorus doomed this, our poppiest song, from ever getting a whiff of airplay.
PS bought a Yamaha 12-string to play on this session, which served me well into the millenium.

lyrics

"Dowsing rods grasped in our hands, we search for the promised land, but all we find are empties and used rubbers in the sand... seems I've spent my life on platforms where no train will ever come"
